(Peoria, IL) OneFire is proud to announce a partnership with OSF Healthcare with the release of a mobile app for the Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center. The app launched with the grand opening of the facility, which was held Thursday, April 25th 2013.

Available on both iOS and Android, the app features information and rich, interactive media about the new center. Visitors using the app can scan key images throughout the facility to invoke videos with a built-in augmented reality feature. The result is a rich media tour of the various attributes of the center.

Dr. John A. Vozenilek, Chief Medical Officer of the Jump Trading Simulation Center, says “It is clear that our learners are highly focused on technology. From my perspective, institutions dedicated to best practices in teaching and learning need to adapt and evolve. The learning environment is a moving target, and it’s great to have an agile company like OneFire to aid us in executing our world-class vision.”

“Initially the app is a showcase piece for the grand opening,” says Jake Hamann, CEO of OneFire. “However, because the app is a portal to information about the Jump Trading Simulation Center, it will have implications well beyond the grand opening. In addition to the augmented reality feature, this app will launch with a feed for news, photos and video content, FAQ’s organized by room, as well as opportunities for contribution.”

"The Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center is one of the best examples of the use of technology for the benefit of people," says Hamann. "We could not be more pleased with our partnership with OSF. This project is an excellent opportunity and supports our vision here at OneFire, where we specialize in developing digital solutions to help our business partners communicate effectively. We view this app as the opening of a broader conversation with OSF and Jump Sim. We are excited to develop a long-term relationship with them.”

A 2011 press release regarding the ground breaking of the facility states, "The Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center will utilize the latest innovations in simulation education to train physicians and medical professionals from across the region." Hamann explains, "It just makes sense to follow that same principle to communicate about what happens within the Jump Simulation Center. Augmented reality has been in development for years, but use of AR on smartphones is a recent innovation. Using augmented reality on smart devices, Jump Sim as well as OSF Healthcare will be able to tell their story to patients, visitors, donors and even staff using rich, immersive media. It's a medium by which users can have access to information just-in-time, at their point of need, all while reducing costs and increasing business efficiency.”

The app, called "Jump Trading Simulation Center," is a free download via the App Store and Google Play.
